What Torrance Planning & Zoning Told Us: While it is possible to drill a well in this area they stated there's likely a high alkali content in the ground water and recommended it best to use a catchment or other alternative system. They also stated that if a catchment system is used the local Fire Department would likely require a minimum 1,500 gallon water tank. It is important to note, however, the East Torrance Soil & Water Conservation District (linked in the table below) offers help in the form of financial incentives for this type of system.
